As today is World Town Planning Day 2024 we take a look back and celebrate some of our many success for the year!
“We supported the Lighthouse Church, Spalding in finding a new town centre home to allow them to deliver support services to make the lives of the community they serve better. The Council Officers tried to resist the loss of the retail store but we were able to convince Members that the many public benefits on offer would outweigh the loss of a retail store that had stood vacant for a considerable time. The larger space allows them to provide a ‘play and stay’ space, provide youth services/clubs, provide a larger food bank, run financial and debt advice services and has a larger meeting space to run independent groups.”
Denise Knipe MSc MRTPI Managing Director
“We supported Saint Gobain, Newark to gain full planning permission for a new 40m tall mixing facility. The height of the tower will allow the firm to utilise gravity in their mixing processes, significantly reducing energy consumption, improving efficiency and help Saint Gobain progress towards their ambitions carbon footprint aims. Working with a team of other consultants we were able to prove that the new building was policy compliant, would benefit this important regional employer by improving capacity and therefore potentially leading to provision of extra jobs and would have no detrimental impact on the surrounding landscape.”
Andrew Pettifor BSc (Hons) MRTPI Senior Heritage & Town Planner
“Working on behalf of Nottinghamshire Council Council, undertaking public consultation and working proactively with the multi-disciplinary team to address matters such as flood risk & drainage, ecology and archaeology we successfully obtained outline planning consent for residential development of up to 75 homes (with all matters reserved except for means of access) in Radcliffe on Trent, Nottingham. Radcliffe on Trent is identified as a key settlement for growth in Rushcliffe’s Core Strategy. We worked collaboratively with Rushcliffe Borough Council towards a delegated decision for outline consent to deliver much needed homes in the future.”
Caroline Richardson MTCP MRTPI Principal Planner
“Aspbury Planning assisted with the resourcing challenges faced by Local Planning Authorities by providing additional capacity for the processing of planning applications to help clear backlogs etc. whilst they recruit to the team. The services provided contribute to the productivity of the planning system, helping to deliver the places and homes we need. The team have a wide-ranging experience base, including previously working within Local Authorities, transport planning and heritage.”
