Heritage   Heritage Impact Assessments   Planning Applications and Other Consents   Residential

Client: KH Assets Groups Ltd

Application Type: Permitted Development – Prior approval for change of use class MA

Proposal: Former Bank conversion to Apartments

Brief Description:

This Planning Application granted consent for a modest 13.4 m2 single storey extension and the installation of roof lights into the roof space. The single storey extension is to be constructed over existing ramp access at the rear/side west facing elevation, with the aim of providing improved entrance and circulation space into the ground floor of the building, minor reconfiguration of the ground floor dwelling layout and access to the first the loft floors. The extension allows for a more practical layout at ground floor and improved access and egress experience to all floors.

The application also approved the installation of 5 new roof lights, 2 within the south facing front elevation roof pitch and 3 within the rear north facing roof pitch. These roof lights are designed to improve the natural light into the loft floor apartment on the approved prior approval application.
The roof lights will be of a heritage/conservation style fitted flush with the plane of the roof. A separate discharge of conditions application will be submitted to discharge conditions included within the granted prior approval relation to noise mitigation and roof lights.

The building is a fine Victorian property, completed 1899 and in the Arts and Crafts style.
