As a well-respected and experienced Nottingham based Planning Consultancy, celebrating it’s fourth successful decade in Practice, we are looking for a Senior Planner to help our team to continue to grow in line with our future plans for expansion.

Aspbury Planning Ltd is looking to appoint a motivated and experienced RTPI Chartered Town Planner/Planning Consultant to work on an exciting variety of projects for private and public sector clients in the Midlands and across England and Wales. You will be working as part of the wider team in developing new client and consultant relationships and enhancing existing relationships. We have a number of new and ongoing projects for a variety of residential, commercial and industrial sector clients across the length and breadth of the east Midlands regions and beyond.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Planner you will play a key role in developing the client base and enhancing the reputation of the Practice. You will be responsible for working proactively and on your own initiative for a range of commissions including site assessments, planning applications and appeals for private and local authority clients, and major developers. You will be expected to take on responsibility for developing and managing your own clients and caseload. It is anticipated that the Senior Planner will have experience in:

  • The provision of professional planning advice to clients on a variety of planning matters
  • Prepare and project manage all types of planning applications, including Majors
  • Preparing and submitting written representations, informal hearings and public inquiry appeals
  • Prepare and submit applications for Certificates of Lawfulness
  • Preparing and submitting Local Plan representations and taking them through the adoption process
  • Project managing the input of different consultants into the planning process
  • Undertaking detailed negotiations with local authorities and other statutory bodies on planning and related matters
  • The preparation and presentation of reports

 

Requirements

Ideal candidates will have at least two years post qualification experience in a Planning consultancy role with experience in consulting and /or local authority and hold an RTPI-accredited degree in Town Planning (or related subject) and will have full membership or working towards full membership of the RTPI. You will be ambitious and proactive in your own development as well as contribution to the success of the team and growth of the practice.

Applicants should be confident, commercially-minded and articulate with strong communication and negotiation skills. Candidates will have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle in order to attend meetings, committees and site visits. Mileage Allowance paid.

A competitive salary is offered for this position, which is negotiable and will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience and skillset.
